Childless cheer-ups from the web

Feeling a little down about your situation? I think these posts will make you feel a lot better. Enjoy.

"What the hell am I going to do with my life if I don't have a baby?" That's the question posed in today's Gateway-Woman post. I think you will enjoy reading the answers. And from me, the short answer is: a lot.

Try this Slate article, too. "Do We Secretly Envy the Childfree?"

Finally, here's a beautiful post by "savvy auntie" Melanie Notkin called "Childless So Far: Why I Choose Love Over Motherhood."

  2. From the Gateway Women post:
" The world, frankly, doesn’t give a shit what you do with your life now, as long as you don’t make too much noise and hopefully become the unpaid and uncomplaining carer of your elderly parents. "

Imho, truer words were never...well, you know.
Thanks, Sue for the posts !

  3. Hi Sue,
I have just found your blog this evening as I come to terms with the fact that 'I will never be a mother'. I wanted to say thank you for writing it, as it is just what I need to read to help me through this! I love the man I married, and I knew when I first started seeing him that children were not an option for him. He knew that I wanted children, and was always supportive about this compromise I was making. Today we have talked about the topic one last time, and we have closed that door - we will be a childless family - just the two of us for the rest of our lives. So now I need to get on with it, I guess!
Thank you for the support you give to people in this situation - I will be a regular reader xxx

  4. Welcome, new anonymous. I'm glad we can help. I think it's a good thing that you have talked it out and come to a conclusion. Keep coming back.
